The British Academy of Movie and Tv Arts has rolled out the pink carpet for its annual BAFTA Movie Awards at London’s Royal Pageant Corridor. The ceremony is about to kick off on what’s a sometimes chilly and gray night within the capital.
Heading into the occasion, Papal thriller Conclave leads all nominations with 12, together with Finest Movie, Director, Tailored Screenplay, Actor, and Casting.
With the second-largest haul of nominations, Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Perez is vying for a complete of 11, together with Finest Movie, Director, Movie Not In The English Language, and Assist Actress. The movie can be nominated in Main Actress with Karla Sofía Gascón, who was left off the ceremony’s visitor following widespread pushback about previous racist tweets.
Chasing the main two is Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist (9), Sean Baker’s Anora (seven), Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Half Two (seven), and Bob Dylan biopic A Full Unknown (six). The BAFTAs are one more Oscar precursor which will give us a clearer indication of what’s to come back on the Dolby on March 2.
