T.J. Watt is looking for an extension as he enters the ultimate 12 months of his contract, and all it took was one photograph for Pittsburgh Steelers followers to come back to the conclusion that their star pass-rusher is nearly as good as gone.

Watt has one 12 months remaining on the four-year, $112M extension he signed with the Steelers again in 2021. After racking up 30.5 sacks over the previous two seasons, Watt is undoubtedly trying to develop into one of many highest-paid defensive gamers within the NFL, if not the best.

When requested about Watt’s contract scenario on the NFL homeowners conferences in Palm Seaside, Florida, final week, Steelers normal supervisor Omar Khan would solely say he’s “hopeful” Watt will retire with the crew.

That didn’t give followers in Pittsburgh a lot reassurance. Then on Wednesday, Watt shared a photograph on his Instagram story that confirmed him holding up two fingers.
